1. Overview & Architecture

NBKB B2B Wholesale Suite is an enterprise-grade WooCommerce solution designed to handle wholesale, trade, and business-to-business customer operations within your existing online store.

The suite is architected into two modular components:

  • Core Lite Plugin (nbkb-b2b-wholesale): The free foundational engine published on WordPress.org. It manages custom wholesale roles, global storewide discounts, basic role pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQ), retail coupon blocking, and native CSV bulk import/export.
  • Pro Add-on Plugin (nbkb-b2b-wholesale-pro): The premium extension providing multi-tier quantity volume breaks (with role targeting), automated registration approval workflows, quote requests with 1-click cart/order conversion, spend-based auto role progression ladders, and role-based payment gateway visibility rules.
Single Unified Menu Invariant: Pro never pollutes your WordPress admin sidebar with separate menus. All settings, queues, and configuration tabs live in the dedicated top-level B2B Wholesale menu (and under WooCommerce > B2B Wholesale).

3. Installation Guide

  1. Ensure WooCommerce is installed and active on your WordPress website.
  2. Install the free NBKB B2B Wholesale core plugin from the WordPress repository (Plugins > Add New > Search: "NBKB B2B Wholesale") and click Activate.
  3. To enable Pro features, upload nbkb-b2b-wholesale-pro.zip via Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin and click Activate.
  4. Navigate to B2B Wholesale in your admin menu to access the unified management console.

4. License Activation & Automatic Updates

Pro licenses are securely managed through our official Freemius infrastructure:

  • Go to WooCommerce > B2B Wholesale > License to review your license tier, expiration status, and renewal information.
  • Updates are delivered seamlessly via the native WordPress Plugins > Updates page with 1-click upgrade support.
  • To manage your account, billing, or download master zips, access the official Freemius Customer Portal.

5. Role-Based Tiered Quantity Pricing (Pro)

Offer high-volume purchase incentives through dynamic quantity discount breaks on both simple and variable products.

Discount Types Supported:

  • Percentage Discount (% off): Reduces the base wholesale price by a specific percentage (e.g. 10% off for 10+ units, 20% off for 50+ units).
  • Fixed Discount ($ off): Deducts a fixed dollar savings per unit from the regular price.
  • Fixed Unit Price ($ net): Forces an exact unit price regardless of retail adjustments (e.g. $15.00/unit for 100+ units).

Role Targeting & Inheritance:

Each tier row can target “All Wholesale Roles” or a specific VIP customer group (such as Distributor or Tier 1 Partner). Variable products automatically inherit parent product tiered tables unless overridden on the individual variation level.

6. Custom Wholesale Roles & Global Storewide Discounts

Under B2B Wholesale > Roles, create and manage an unlimited number of custom wholesale customer groups:

  • Custom Role Slug & Label: Define unique groups like Trade Professional, Regional Distributor, or Corporate Partner.
  • Storewide Percentage Discounts: Assign a default percentage discount per role that automatically applies across your entire store catalog when no item-specific pricing is defined.
  • Automatic Tax Exemption: Wholesale buyers assigned to these roles can automatically have taxes waived during checkout.

7. Core B2B Features & Native CSV Import/Export

Included free in the foundational Core plugin:

  • Retail Coupon Blocker: Automatically prevent wholesale customer roles from stacking public consumer coupons on top of discounted commercial rates.
  • Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ): Enforce minimum packaging requirements on single product pages.
  • Native WooCommerce CSV Import/Export: Bulk import and export wholesale_price columns directly using WooCommerce’s built-in product CSV importer.

8. Registration Approval Workflow & Fraud Prevention (Pro)

9. Request a Quote System & 1-Click Order Conversion (Pro)

Empower wholesale clients to build private quote inquiries for volume negotiations:

  • Quote Basket: Buyers click “Add to Quote” to assemble inquiries without proceeding through standard payment checkout.
  • Admin Review: Review submitted quotes under WooCommerce > Orders with dedicated quote filters.
  • 1-Click Conversion: Convert approved quotes into pending payment invoices with direct checkout links emailed to the customer.

10. Cart Order Rules & Gateway Visibility (Pro)

Under B2B Wholesale > Order Rules, configure fine-grained checkout governance:

  • Minimum Cart Subtotal: Require wholesale buyers to meet a minimum order value (e.g. $500) before checkout is permitted.
  • Payment Gateway Whitelisting: Show B2B-specific payment methods (e.g., Bank Transfer, Net 30 Terms) exclusively to approved wholesale roles, while hiding credit card or retail gateways for commercial accounts.

11. Auto Role Progression Engine (Pro)

The Spend-Based Auto Role Progression Engine introduces an automated VIP loyalty ladder for B2B stores. As wholesale clients order more inventory over time, the system continuously evaluates their commercial milestones and automatically elevates them to higher wholesale tiers with bigger discounts—driving repeat bulk orders without requiring manual intervention by store managers.

Upward-Only Progression Guarantee: The engine is engineered with strict upward-only safeguards. A buyer will only ever be promoted to a higher tier; their account will never be downgraded if calculations fluctuate or temporary refunds occur.

11.1 Enabling the Engine & Selecting Progression Metrics

Navigate to WooCommerce > B2B Wholesale > Role Progression (or B2B Wholesale > Settings > Role Progression tab):

  • Enable Role Progression: Toggle checkbox to activate automatic evaluation on order completion and processing.
  • Progression Metric: Choose between two commercial calculation models:
    • Customer Lifetime Spend ($): Tracks the customer’s total historical spend on completed orders. Ideal for dollar-volume commercial accounts.
    • Total Completed Orders (Count): Tracks the number of successful fulfilled wholesale orders. Ideal for frequent restocking workflows.

11.2 Configuring the Tier Progression Ladder

Build an unlimited tier progression ladder using the dynamic repeater interface:

  • Lifetime Metric Counter: Shows total cumulative spend (or fulfilled orders).
  • Animated Progress Bar: Visual percentage indicator reflecting progress toward the next threshold.
  • Next Milestone Distance: Clearly states the remaining spend (e.g. “Spend $350.00 more to unlock Distributor (15% off)!”).

11.4 Dynamic Cart Notices

Wholesale shoppers with items in their cart receive motivating real-time notices on the Cart and Checkout pages:

“⚡ Adding this order to your account will automatically upgrade you to VIP Wholesale (10% storewide discount)!”

Celebrate milestone achievements with automatic branded email alerts sent directly through WooCommerce’s transactional email system:

14. Troubleshooting & FAQ

Q: Wholesale prices do not appear on product pages.

Ensure that you are logged into a user account with a valid wholesale role (such as Wholesale Customer or a custom role you created). Retail guests and standard subscribers will only see regular retail prices.

Q: Does this plugin work with WooCommerce HPOS?

Yes, 100%. Both Core Lite and Pro are fully tested and compatible with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).

Q: Are the new WooCommerce Cart and Checkout Blocks supported?

Yes. Pricing rules, coupon blocking, role discounts, and progression notices apply natively at the cart calculation layer, fully supporting block-based checkouts as well as classic shortcodes.
